Math in Modular Origami

Here are some of my interesting mathematical questions surrounding modular origami.

Piece Design

No matter how the piece is designed, the vast majority of modular origami units contain pockets and connectors that can be inserted into each other. Most units, like the PHiZZ unit, can be stretched to accomodate different angles and create different polygon faces. Others, like the Penultimate unit, can only form fixed angles.

Assembly

Colorings

Combinatorial questions arise when we assemble units of different colors together. Naturally, we would want to arrange the colors in some sort of symmetric way.
